SERVICES

The sports and entertainment industry has unique characteristics that require specific planning and forecasting expertise, as facilities and events are significant assets that have a long-term impact on their community. Whether you represent a municipal entity that is looking at facility development as part of a broader economic development strategy, or a university, team, or rights holder looking to maximize revenues, we can provide trusted and independent analysis to help guide your decision making and realize your goals.

In addition to the services listed here, we also often work with other industry experts, such as architects, urban planners, and financial institutions to provide a comprehensive suite of services on complex planning efforts. Our industry relationships allow us to tailor our offerings to best meet our clients' needs, while maintaining our independence.

We provide a wide range of services to the sports and entertainment industry. The services listed on this page represent tasks we are often asked to perform for public- and private-sector clients, with links to more detailed examples of our work.

INDEPENDENT MARKET AND FINANCIAL FEASIBILITY STUDIES

A feasibility study is often the first step in determining the potential viability of a concept. Our comprehensive research, including market analysis, stakeholder feedback, and competitive and industry analyses allow us to provide realistic recommendations that lead to achievable forecasts of future performance (such as facility usage, visitation/attendance, and all revenues and expenses).

ECONOMIC AND FISCAL IMPACT STUDIES

Major facility development projects and events are often the result of a public-private partnership, and the determination of public benefits, such as new spending, jobs created, income, and tax revenues are important factors in the decision to commit public dollars. Our analyses help public- and private-sector entities in planning these projects and understanding both benefits and costs.

OPERATIONAL/MANAGEMENT/ COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS

From the design phase on, venues must consider and adapt to industry dynamics and competition. Our research and real-world operational expertise provide ongoing strategic guidance throughout a facility's lifecycle, including venue conditions, overall business and operating structure, management and staffing, operational documents, FF&E, and capital expenditures.

SURVEYS AND OTHER CUSTOMIZED STAKEHOLDER FEEDBACK

In addition to stakeholder feedback that is obtained throughout a typical research process, we also develop online-based surveys that can reach an unlimited number of stakeholders in any location. The results can be used to quantify interest in a product or service, characteristics of attendees and their visit to or satisfaction with a facility or event, and many others.

RFP MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPER/OPERATOR NEGOTIATION ASSISTANCE

The public-private nature of facility development and operations often requires complex negotiations between a public owner/funder and private-sector partners. We often represent clients in these dealings related to agreements for facility management, food and beverage providers, ticketing companies, and other partners.

OTHER MARKET/INDUSTRY RESEARCH

We also provide other services in the planning and operations of facilities and events, and broader economic development strategies. This can include analysis of a specific industry sector, planning for a special event, and other services.
