ECONOMIC AND FISCAL IMPACTS OF LAMBEAU FIELD AND THE GREEN BAY PACKERS
Green Bay/Brown County Professional Football Stadium District, Green Bay Packers
David completed an economic and fiscal impact analysis for the Green Bay/Brown County Professional Football Stadium District and the Green Bay Packers. The intent of the study was to address the incremental community impacts that are captured within Brown County from Lambeau Field’s 2003 expansion and redevelopment.
The comprehensive analysis addressed a number of issues, including the following:
New spending and tax revenues captured locally from Packers games, training camp, and Lambeau Field Atrium events, as well as the redevelopment construction project,
The impact of the redeveloped stadium on surrounding property values and businesses,
Surveys of local businesses to understand the impact of the stadium and its renovation on local attractions, entertainment/meetings facilities, and hotels,
The potential for future capital improvements and other impact-generating events,
Seating offerings, events, and amenities at other NFL stadiums, and
The impact of the team and stadium on local business attraction.
David has also provided a wide range of analyses related to the planned redevelopment of the district surrounding Lambeau Field (Titletown) and the stadium itself. We analyzed development potentials, operating economics, and economic impacts for a number of land uses that could potentially be supported by the local resident population as well as the extensive visitor base that attends Packers training camp and home games. Analyses included retail, cinema, youth sports facilities (as part of a redevelopment of the team’s training facilities), a new multipurpose expo center, a minor-league ballpark, a hotel, and improvements to Lambeau Field’s Atrium facilities and expansion of the stadium. Many of the planned improvements have since been built or are under construction.
